Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 3, 2026
At Hogarly (“the app”) we take your privacy seriously. This document is the Privacy Notice(Aviso de Privacidad) under Mexico’s Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP), and explains what personal data we process, for what purpose, with whom it is shared and what rights you have. By using Hogarly, you accept what is described here.
1. Data controller
The controller of your data is Hogarly, operated by an individual (persona física) domiciled in Mexico (available upon request). For any privacy matter or to exercise your rights, write to us at hola@hogarly.app.
2. What data we process
- Account data: your name, your email address and your password. The password is always stored encrypted (hashed); we never store it or see it in clear text.
- Profile: an avatar photo, if you choose to upload one (optional).
- Your household’s content:the content you and your family create in the app — chores, rewards and points, the shopping list, the meal plan, calendar events, board notes and polls.
- Technical data: your IP address (to limit sign-ups and prevent abuse), strictly necessary cookies (session, theme preference and a welcome flag) and technical error information to diagnose failures.
- Sign in with Google (if you use it): the name and photo that Google shares with us when you sign in with your Google account.
3. How we use your data and on what legal basis
- To provide the service you request (organizing your household as a family): legal basis, performance of the service you request.
- To authenticate you and keep your session securely signed in.
- To send you the notices you enable (in-app notifications, push notifications and account-related emails).
- Security and abuse prevention (legitimate interest in keeping the service safe).
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it and we do not profile you for commercial purposes.
Under the LFPDPPP, the processing of your data is based on your consent, which you give when creating your account and using the app. You may withdraw it at any time by deleting your account or writing to us.
4. With whom it is shared
We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties for advertising purposes. To operate, the app relies on trusted providers that process data on our behalf (data processors):
- Supabase— database and authentication (where your account and your household’s content are stored).
- Vercel— hosting of the web application.
- Resend— sending your account emails (confirmation, password recovery).
- Sentry— technical error logging (production only), to diagnose failures.
- Google— only if you use sign in with Google.
These providers may host data on servers outside your country; they are chosen for their security and data-protection guarantees.
5. How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as you maintain your account. When you delete it (see below), we erase your personal data — profile, family memberships, points, votes, notifications and preferences. Content shared with your family (for example, a chore or a note) may remain for the rest of the household, but without your authorship. Our backups are rotated periodically.
6. Your ARCO rights
You may exercise at any time your rights of Access, Rectification, Cancellation and Objection (ARCO rights), as well as withdraw your consent:
- Access and rectification: view and edit your name and your avatar from My account in the app.
- Cancellation (erasure): delete your account from My account → Delete account. It is a real, irreversible deletion.
- Objection or any other ARCO request: write to us at hola@hogarly.app and we will respond within the timeframes set by law.
If you believe your right to data protection has been infringed, you may turn to Mexico’s National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information and Personal Data Protection (INAI).
7. Security
We apply technical measures to protect your data: each family can only see and modify its own data (household isolation at the database level), communication travels encrypted (HTTPS) and passwords are stored hashed. Even so, no system is completely infallible; we recommend using a unique, strong password.
8. Minors
Hogarly is intended for family use. Accounts are created by adults, who are responsible for the data of the minors in their household that they choose to include in the app. We do not direct the service at minors creating accounts on their own.
9. Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies for the app to work: keeping your session, remembering your theme preference (light/dark) and a first-use welcome flag. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app or in applicable regulations. If the change is relevant, we will notify you; the date above indicates the last update.
